Cooking Day (Saturday Class)
April 26th ’14
Every 4th Saturday of the month, we have our cooking day. The kids became great chefs and experienced the mini buffet style of eating! I’m going to share what we did today.
First, our lesson for the month is about family, the kids illustrated their family. After that, they got the chance to share it in the class. They shared how many members are there in their family and each member’s hobbies. And even their pets too!
After the sharing, we got ready for the cooking. Our goal is to make a custom sandwich.
The kids were grouped to slice the cucumbers, tomatoes and peel the boiled eggs. After that, we cleaned up and set up the table into a mini buffet style. And the result was fantastic!
The kids loved the idea of mini buffet and they have eaten alot! They also had jam as a dessert! Yummy!
Today was really fun! Thanks to everybody’s help. The kids learned the english words for the cooking aspect in a fun way.
Just kids being kids.

A New Park
We discovered a new park, in our neighbourhood, while looking on Google Maps. We took the older children there to check it out,宝塚中山中央公園 . It is a large park with a wide slide and a ladybug slide, the children enjoyed the adventure of going to a new place and discovering a new play area. With a lot of shaded play areas this will be a great place to come back to as the weather gets hotter. We now have five choices when it comes to parks in our area. When the weather is good we like to take the children outside to play. We believe that getting outside and running around is an important part of a child’s development. Looking forward to returning to the ‘Ladybug Park’.

Easter Fun
This week we made a trip to the octopus park, 宝塚中山五月台6丁目, named for the large red concrete octopus with various slides. This is one of the kids favourite parks but due to the fact that it is the farthest away we can only go there when we have plenty of time. It was a great day and the Koi Noburi are flying in the park. On Friday we celebrated Easter at High Five Kids by colouring eggs with food colouring, then we went together to the big park,宝塚中山五月台公園, where the Easter Bunny had left some eggs. The big kids paired up with the smaller children each child was given a letter and they searched in the park for three eggs with their letter on them. The plastic eggs each contained stickers, and candies. All the children brought their treasures home with them in the baskets we made in class. Happy Easter.
